Marsh Cinquefoil (Potentilla palustris)

Marsh Cinquefoil is found on fens, which flood, for at least part of the year. It can reach up to 50cm in height. From May to July it produces a striking deep purple flower with 5 petals arranged in the shape of a star. It is widely distributed throughout much of Northern Ireland.
