Public Education

Peatlands Park is open all year round, with extensive way-marked routes and interpretation, but presentations and guided walks are also available for visitors by prior arrangement.

We offer educational programmes to organised groups such as adult and higher education groups, hobby clubs, summer schemes and community and youth groups. These programmes focus on the importance of peatlands as a resource and as a habitat for some unusual species, as well as looking at the ways in which we are all custodians to this declining resource in Northern Ireland.

Such programmes can be tailored to your groups needs and can take the form of a formal presentation or more casual guided walks.

For further information please contact Biodiversity Educator at peat.Info@doeni.gov.uk or telephone 028 38 851102.

There are also seasonal events which take place throughout the year, including International Bog day, and are open to the general public.

For further information please contact the Warden at peat.Info@doeni.gov.uk or telephone 028 38 851102.
