Peatlands Park is located at Junction 13 off the M1.Follow signs from M1.

Booking conditions

If you wish to bring a group to Peatland Park it is essential that you contact the Park staff and obtain a booking form and permit. Initial bookings can be made by phone or e-mail.

Lunches - Groups are advised to bring a packed lunch as currently there are no catering facilities suitable for large groups on the site. In the event of wet weather provision can be made for eating indoors.

Clothing and Equipment - Group leaders should ensure that everyone has suitable clothing and footwear - a waterproof jacket and sturdy boots or wellies are necessary at all times of the year. The centre provides all the necessary fieldwork equipment for visiting school groups.

Health and Safety - Group leaders/Teachers are responsible for their group at all times. For educational groups the pupil teacher ratio as stated on the booking form must be adhered to - this is a strict Health and Safety requirement. Groups visiting the Park must present a signed Educational Visits Permit to the Park staff on arrival. Any accident should be reported immediately to the Park staff.

Charges - Entry to Peatlands Park is free to the general public. There is a small charge for groups participating in educational programmes. Education staff will advise of current rates at time of booking. The charge for a trip on the narrow-gauge railway is £1 per adult, 50p per child and under 5's are free. Reduced rates on the railway are available for pre-booked groups.
