Eastern Mournes

Although the Eastern Mournes is domoinated by heath vegetation it does have considerable areas of blanket bog. The area of active raised bog accounts for 318 hectares of this 7510 hectare sit. The blanket bog is restricted to the elevated flat areas within the mountains.
