Location - Slaghtfreeden; Lissan;
Cookstown.
Description
The site consists of a number of pieces of wood which protrude from the
base of a long turf bank, running north-south. 2 large pieces of oak 20cm
apart form the bulk of the structure. The most southern piece is a split
plank, 40cm wide & extending 1m out of the turf bank. The northern
piece is 20m wide. Below these is a substantial amount of smaller brushwood
twigs & branches. A stake set outside the north oak plank was radiocarbon
dated to 1731-1516 BC. It is uncertain in which direction the trackway
is running.
