Description
On the east slopes of Carrickaholten with superb views north, east and
south. The site consists of earth-fast stones which together form a complex
of circles & alignments. In all, 17 stones protrude through the grass,
some are prominent standing 1.3m high, but the majority are low-lying,
reminiscent of the stones at Beaghmore. There is a single, definite circle
c.8m diam. containing at least 9 stones with 2 further possible circles
placed tangentially to east and west. The site was also used for penal
worship.
