Description
An artefact resembling an over-sized trough, which the sceptical may query regarding whether or not it really had been intended as a navigable vessel. Located deep in bogland, on the site of a former lake, near Thornhill Parish Church in County Tyrone. It measured 1.98m in length, 1.06m at its maximum breadth and stood 46cm high. The sides were roughly parallel, and the extremities curved. Large lug-type handles at either end indicate the means by which may have been dragged to and from water, and perhaps also moored once afloat.
